A Message From the 50 Year Committee

Greetings Wilson Class of '70 Classmates,

We continue to receive inquiries about holding a Class of '70 50th reunion. So the members of the reunion committee were polled, and respondents all indicated that we need to skip our "50th" and aim for a 55th in 2025.

For over two years now your Reunion Committee members worked for hours on end, meeting monthly, and planning for the reunion – TWICE. And still no one knows what the “new norm” is; what the new rules are for large gatherings; or how comfortable people are meeting with masks (should that be in effect). Honestly, isn’t it difficult enough recognizing one another seeing the FULL face??

However, there is good news. Until the 55th rolls around, Dave Lott has agreed to host an annual Belmont Brewing Company Chill Party in early September. To accommodate this size of event, and still keep BBC running smoothly during peak days of the week, the event will need to be held on the Monday or Tuesday after the Labor Day weekend.

Finally, we want to thank the reunion committee members for all the work they did trying to make the 50th happen. And we will continue to do so as 2025 draws closer.

We ask for your understanding, and will keep you posted as the BBC Chill Party gets closer.

Stay safe and healthy ~ We hope to be seeing you soon ~ GO BRUINS !!

Sincerely,

Wilson Class of '70 50-Year Reunion:  RESCHEDULED FOR 2022

To All Wilson Class of ’70 Classmates,
We begin our 2021 correspondence by delivering our State of the Reunion Address.

We recognize the toll that the Covid-19 pandemic has taken on our state and country and sincerely hope that you and your families are coping well.

Although we had hoped it might be safe to hold our 50-Year Reunion on the weekend of August 7, 2021, our reunion planning committee has decided to postpone the event date to a time when we can shake hands, share hugs, and see each other’s smiles. We hope to reschedule sometime in 2022. The exact date is still to be determined, but we will aim for summer if we can still secure the Long Beach Yacht Club.

Our new cheer could be - "A 52nd for the '52s"

The good news is that we have more time to continue searching for missing classmate contact information! Please let us know if you can provide any information for your fellow classmates or if any of your contact information changes between now and 2022.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we strive to have a safe and wonderful celebration in 2022. We will bring you future GOOD news and updates as they become available - via email and other areas of social media (e.g., FB Woodrow Wilson Class of 1970 or wilsonhighreunion.com website).

With warm regards and virtual hugs,
Your Reunion Planning Committee:
Bob Armstrong, Brad Blasdel, Christine Bunton Burns, Bob Carson, Marilyn Edwards, Ed Ewald, Vicki Jensen Newcomer, Nancy Jones Diaz, Denny Keller, John Kunkle, Dave Lott, Debi Roper Jensen, Tom Sagehorn, Bill Smith, Brian Straight, Daryl Supernaw, Meredith Taylor Heggie, Rick Ware, Kathi Wight Farberow, Bill Williams, Rich Zucker

P.S. If you have any questions, please email us at wwhsclass1970@gmail.com.

We are still updating our database so that we can reach out to as many classmates as possible.  We are in urgent need of current email addresses and other contact information for quite a few people. You can check HERE for missing classmates.  Please let us know if you can provide any information.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy.
We look forward to seeing you all next year.

GO BRUINS!

Dear Classmates,

50 Year Reunion!!! Wow
August 21-23 2020

In past years, reunions may have
been about "show and tell,"
but this time around, it's all about
"show up and share!"
All differences aside…

Whether you were rich or poor,
athlete or artist, an introvert or extrovert;
Whether you were maintaining a 4.0 or just sliding by;
Hanging with the "in-crowd" or living at the library…
IT DOESN'T MATTER!

Whether you're running a Fortune 500 company or just
punching the clock, retired or collecting unemployment;
Whether you're living large in luxury, getting by okay
or just flat out broke…
IT DOESN'T MATTER!

Whether you're still hot stuff, weathering well,
or aging beyond recognition;
Whether your shape is slight or ample, firm or fluffy;
Whether your hair is in abundance or a bit in absence…
IT DOESN'T MATTER!

Whether you're happily married (for the first,
second, or third time), or divorced;
Whether you're living single or with a significant other;
Whether you come with a date, or come alone…
YOU KNOW, IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!

Is our message clear yet?

There really is no excuse good enough to keep you
from attending your 50th class reunion.
We have been through so much together and possess
a shared history from the most sensitive time in our lives.
Through this we are linked for life.
Who could better understand where you are coming from?
